Short Film Hub

48th Drama International Short Film Festival – 2025

Head of Short Film Hub: Antigoni Papantoni

Αντιγόνη Παπαντώνη

Antigoni Papantoni, with many years of experience in film festivals and especially in co-production markets, such as Visions du Réel, Thessaloniki, Jihlava, FIFDH etc, has held the positions of Acquisitions Manager for world sales company Heretic, Project Manager for CIRCLE – Women Doc Accelerator focusing on documentary development, Fiction Consultant for FIFDH and short film curator for Anafi ISFF. She currently holds the positions of IDFA Talks Senior Producer and Qumra Senior Programme Manager.  She works as an independent consultant and reader of projects for funds, labs and markets and creative documentaries, while continuing her personal photographic work.

The Short Film Hub returns for the third consecutive year, strengthening its role as a meeting point, platform for dialogue, and space for collaboration for short filmmakers. This year, with a new organisation and a fresh look, the programme is expanding, putting a focus on community, cross-sector collaboration and cultivating a sustainable, supportive ecosystem.

Focusing on the integration of all disciplines that make up a short film—from writing, casting and directing to producing and distributing— Short Film Hub 2025 focuses on sharing knowledge, empowering young filmmakers and bridging the gap between artistic intent and professional realisation.

This year’s programme includes 3 specialised workshops, 5 discussion panels, 2 literary halls that continue this special tradition of the Drama Festival, as well as numerous networking opportunities with established professionals from Greece and abroad. The themes address key issues such as post-festival distribution, casting dynamics, creative possibilities within low-budget conditions, and the relationship between film and literature.

A particular emphasis this year is placed on practical knowledge: from filmmaking and production, to cultivating positive and effective communication between members of a film crew. At the same time, distinguished filmmakers, directors, producers, writers and distributors are hosted to share valuable experiences and pave the way to new, bold collaborations. In the context of distribution, special attention is paid not only to international perspectives but also to mapping and strengthening domestic outreach channels. This year’s event opens the dialogue on alternative distribution routes in Greece, focusing on the possibilities offered by art museums, as well as independent curatorial groups
active in spaces of artistic expression and experimental projection.

Short Film Hub 2025 maintains its character as a laboratory of ideas but also as a field of practice, aiming not only to explore the contemporary challenges of the field but also to encourage practical solutions with imagination and collectivity.

With a firm ambition to provide fertile ground for creation, encounter, and discovery, we welcome you to an event that places short film at the centre of a wider artistic and professional dialogue.
