On behalf of the DISFF Administration 

The Drama International Short Film Festival Administration would like to inform the audience, our partners, and all artists that the process of selecting our new Artistic Director has started.

Our present Artistic Director, Yannis Sakaridis, is completing his tenure on December 31, 2024, after five years of service. For the first time in the history of the festival, the selection for our next Artistic Director will be done through an Open Call for Expression of Interest. This decision is based on the basic principles of transparency and equal access for all candidates, a procedure followed by important festivals all over the world.

The process is open to all participants who meet the standards that will be soon announced in a new press release.

This decision is part of a renewal process for the Drama Festival that aims to maintain its innovative and competitive edge in the artistic world. We believe that every big institution can grow and evolve through open and transparent procedures that promote polyphony, novelty, and participation. The open competition process reflects our commitment to continuous progress.

In respect to recent statements and publications, the Administration wishes to clarify that the decision regarding the open call is in no way related to the current Artistic Director’s creative course. On the contrary, it is merely one more step towards promoting transparency and polyphony in our institution.

Drama International Short Film Festival remains dedicated to supporting art and its creators and is committed to remain a point of reference in culture.
