Laurent Crouzeix
Yorgos Mavropsaridis (President)
After graduating from Theatriko Ergastiri (1975) and the London International Film School (1978), Yorgos Mavropsaridis started working as a film editor. In his long career, he has been nominated for 53 awards, having won 14. In Greece, he received Best Editing awards for Skiahtra (1984); A Touch of Spice (2003), which won the Best Editing Award (Greek Competition) at Thessaloniki Film Festival, and the Greek State Film Award for Best Editing; Dogtooth (2009), and The Enemy Within (2013), which won Best Editing Award from the Hellenic Film Academy. He also received Best Editing awards for the films Sivas (2014), which won the Golden Orange Award by the SIYAD (Turkish Film Critics Association), Motherland (2016), which won the Turkish National Competition Award (SIYAD), and Noah Land (SIYAD Award). He was nominated for Best Editing Awards for The Lobster (2017, American Cinema Editors – Eddie Awards), The Favourite (2019, BAFTA and Academy Awards nominations, American Cinema Editors Award for Best Edited Feature Film – Comedy and European Film Award for Best Editor (EFA)), Poor Things (2024, BAFTA award, ACE Eddie and Academy Award for Best Film Editing). His latest collaboration with Y. Lanthimos, Kinds of Kindness (2024), premiered at Cannes Film Festival.
Athena Xenidou
Athena Xenidou is currently the president of the Directors’ Guild of Cyprus and a leading member of the Declaration of Filmmakers, a lobby for Authors’ Rights and AI legislation, which launched at Festival de Cannes, Mostra Venice, Berlinale, Athens and presented at the European Parliament this year. She served as VP of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation, where she launched a policy “Equality at the Podium” bridging the gender gap in classical music for female conductors and soloists. She is the Artistic Director of Cyprus Film Days for Children and Youth International Festival, a member of WIFT GR, and a Jury Member for the International Emmy Awards. Athena studied Music and English Literature in Switzerland, and holds a BA in Film from the UCSB. She trained as a producer at AFI, and holds an MA in Politics and Media from the UNIC. She has written and directed three awarded shorts: The Made Guy, Saving Joy, Insidious Invisible, and a feature documentary Unwitnessed Memories, which had a theatrical release and won Best Documentary at Worldfest Houston, the International Documentary Festival in Cyprus and a distinction at IDFA. Among her Greek TV directing credits are three drama series and reality show Survivor 1 and 2. Athena is a Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, teaching Directing and Producing for Film and Television. Passionate for teaching, she founded The Film and Stage Studio, the first film school in Cyprus, preparing young adults for university entry. Ιn 2023, Athena and her partner Ronan Le Du founded Ray Talent Agency, the first agency in Greece to represent global talent and creatives.
Laurent Crouzeix
Laurent Crouzeix is on the Executive team of the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and Short Film Market. He represents Clermont-Ferrand on the FIAPF Festivals Committee. Laurent manages Euro Connection co-production forum, with over 135 projects to completion. He designs industry meetings and partnerships. As sustainability officer, Laurent leads the event’s social and environmental action plan. On the creative side, Laurent’s stop motion short doc Amerigo and the New World was released in 2019. Laurent is an associate with Court-jus productions, developing documentaries and XR works with a focus on history. For relaxation, Laurent plays in punk rock trio Zapoï.
