But the Festival’s activities do not end here, Art has no borders! The Festival believes that artistic creation and culture are probably the best ambassadors a country can have, as they can contribute to the forging of bonds of mutual understanding and cooperation between peoples who, until recently, may not have been on especially good terms. With the support of Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, the Mayor and the Municipal Authority of the city of Drama, the Festival hosted, in December 1999, the Ankara European Film Festival. 

This consisted of films from Europe, but mainly Turkey, which were screened at the latest Ankara European Film Festival in Turkey.
Our hospitality will be reciprocated at the end of this year’s Festival. On the 18th, 19th and 20th of September, the Short Film Festival in Drama will present contemporary Greek films in the city of Urgut, in Cappadoccia. The event will be held under the auspices of the Mayor of the city of Urgut, and with the support of the Ministries of Culture of Greece and Turkey.
