He was born in Athens and studied Physics at the University of Athens.

He writes novels, short stories, theatrical plays and fairy tales. He is also a literary critic. He is a collaborator of magazines, newspapers, radio and television stations. Some of his works have been adapted and presented for the theater or for television, while others have been translated and published in France, Germany and Thailand.

Some of his books have earned awards from the Circle of Greek Children’s Books, the Association of Greek Writers, and the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), while he has also been honored with the National Literary Award for his novel “Mask on the moon”. He has been nominated for international awards, such as the Andersen and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial awards.

He is the vice president of the Greek branch of Unicef, a member of the Writer’s Company of Greece, the President of the Committee of the National Awards of Cyprus, and he has also served as a member of the Committees of the Greek National Awards and of the Magazine “Diavazo” (I read).
