He studied Mathematics at the University of Athens and Filmmaking at the Stavrakos Film School.

In 1977 he started working as an assistant alongside important Greek filmmakers, such as Pantelis Voulgaris, who was effectively his teacher.
In 1980 he made his first short film, “The cufflinks”, in 1983 he made “Touch typing”, another short film, and in 1987 the television film “Style”.

Since 1994 he has written and directed 4 feature films: “Lefteris Dimakopoulos”, “The man in grey”, “Eyes of night”, “The handler”.

Both his short and his feature films have been awarded in various International and Greek festivals.

Since January 2008 he has been holding the position of Associate Professor in Film Direction at the Cinema Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also teaches at the Drama School of the National Theater of Northern Greece.
