She has graduated from the University of Helsinki where she studied Romance linguistics, Russian language & Literature and History of Art.

After joining the broadcasting company MTV3 Finland she worked purchasing, researching, writing and producing documentaries, reportages and music programmes. Between 1996–2000 she worked in London as Head of Documentaries at the European Media Development Agency, financed by the MEDIA II Programme of the EU.

She has had numerous positions of trust in films, for instance as a member of the Selection Committee of Tampere International Short Film Festival and a jury member of numerous international competitions in the field of short film, documentary film and arts & music.

A member of the Board, as well as the Artistic Committee of DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival, she works as a freelance journalist, documentary consultant and programme curator, cooperating with a number of festivals internationally.

She has studied at the Sibelius Academy and has been staff member of the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival for years.
