She is one of the most outstanding representatives of the Romanian academic and research world. Specialist in audiovisual, she is also an important cultural ambassador of Romania.

Along her career she received many prestigious awards: already in 1979 she was awarded the Prize for Film Criticism of the Romanian Filmmakers Association. In 2003 her contribution to the Romanian culture was recognized at a national level when she became Comandor of the Romanian Cultural Merit Order. In 2004, the Italian state offered her the Star of the Italian Solidarity, in rank of Chevalier. Since 2008 she is prorector of the National Theater and Film Art University. In 2009 she was elected President of the South Eastern European CILECT. She is also member of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Culture (Venice) and General Secretary of the Romanian S.E.C. Center. As member of the Romanian Writers Union and of the Romanian Filmmakers Union she is a distinguished representative of the civil society.

Author of books and essays on film history, published in Romania and abroad, as well as of various translations from the world theater and literature, she has also contributed to the development of the Romanian culture as journalist (with an impressive career), script writer and director of TV documentaries.
