For thirty two years the Short Film Festival in Drama has constantly promoted and supported short films and this year it celebrates the 15th International Short Film section.

In order to empasise film education, this year we’ve established an educational programme for young artists.

Drama mini-talent Lab is an innovation which aims at bringing film makers and viewers from Drama and Greece closer to the short film, through an interactive educational process which includes a number of unique and live events.

Ι. From conception to completion

How can you turn your concept into a film? Through a series of innovative communication techniques, young film makers will have the chance to learn how to make their concepts come to life on screen effectively. So an initial concept may someday grow to be a film.

ΙI. “Α STRANGER IN DRAMA”

The renowned British director and actor Leon Herbert is going to guide the participants through the process of directing a short film entitled “A stranger in Drama” on-the-spot.

The film will be shot and edited during the Festival and it will be screened at the closing ceremony of the Festival on September 26.

The shooting will take place on the streets and the area of Drama in general, giving both the citizens and the guests of the Festival a chance to participate in the making of the film.

Both educational programmes are going to include Masterclasses by Greek and foreign speakers from the cinema field.

Drama mini-talent Lab aims mainly at promoting communication between young filmmakers independent of age, ethnicity and artistic orientation and at bringing young film makers closer to the procedure of directing films in stages. From the stage of coming up with a concept and realizing it, to actually screening a film.
