WELCOMING ADDRESS BY THE ARTISIC DIRECTOR

During the last fifteen years the goals for the reformation and professional operation of the festival were set: creation of the international film festival, increased attendance, recognition of the high artistic level of the program of the festival and an increased connection of the festival with the local society.

The high quality of its selection in artistic works as well as it excellent level of organization contributed to the acknowledgement of the festival by the European Film Academy (EFA) as one of the most important European Festivals, which resulted in the participation of our festival in the network of festivals that collaborate with the European Film Academy, where our director was awarded the honorary title of voting member.

The Festival is now entering its fourth decade of existence, more ready than ever to promote film art and filmmakers of the Greek Cinema.
