SPECIAL SCREENING

Special Screening on Irish Cinema

Network Ireland Television, In the 13 years since it’s start-up, has accumulated a catalogue of over 1,000 hours of quality English language programming and short films from a range of Irish Producers and has quickly established itself as the major Distributor of English language programming.

Network Ireland Television now represents over 500 short film titles of which 85% are live action shorts and the balance are animation shorts. Since our start-up, we have represented short films from the independent film sector, initially in Ireland, but more recently from producers and directors in England, Scotland, the U.S.A. and Austria. Over the years, we have marketed one live action (Dance Lexie Dance) and two short animation films (Give Up Your Oul Sins and 50 Percent Grey) and a short documentary Asylum, that were nominated for Academy Awards©. Other shorts of ours have been multiple international festival award winners, or Bafta-nominated, over the years. Our latest success is the short film Soft by the English director Simon Ellis, which has won over 30 international awards. We are one of the biggest short film distributors in the U.K. and Ireland attending both all the major TV markets (MIP and MIPCOM) and select Short Film Festivals.

We would like to warmly thank the Network Ireland Television and especially Ms Sadhbh Murphy, the Irish Film Insitute (IFI), the Archives and Ms Aoife Coughlan for their co-operation and for kindly allowing the screening of the films for the Special Screening.
