KYRIAKOS KATZOURAKIS

He studied painting with Y. Moralis and set design with V. Vasiliadis at the School of Fine Arts of Athens. He continued his studies in printmaking, at St. Martins School of Art and Croydon College of Art and Design, in London. He also attended courses in the London Film School.

In 1969 he was one of the founding members of the art group "New Greek Realists"

He lived and worked in England from 1972 until 1985, and since then he lives permanently in Athens. He was also the founding member of the European Artists' Group "EUROPA 24" (1991).

He has been working with Y. Lazanis as a set designer in the "Art Theatre of Athens - Karolos Koun" from 1988 since 2007. In 1995 he founded "Omada Technis", an art group which focuses on the interaction between different art disciplines and the creativity of multidisciplinary artworks

1996 - 2002 he runs the Visual Art Workshop of the municipality of Aigaleo, under the Greek Ministry of Culture.

He has presented his work in a lot of solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad (London, Biennale Sao Paulo, Biennale de Paris, etc) and has participated in numerous group exhibitions. He has worked as set and costume designer in cinema ("Days of '36" by T. Agelopoulos, "Anna's Engagement" by P. Voulgaris).

Since 2006 he is full professor at the School of Fine Arts (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).
