It is now ready to perform another celluloid miracle for the 28th time. The creators of short film movies have gathered in Drama, in an event that constitutes a significant hotbed of film makers in our country, to demonstrate that using clever handling and original ideas they can achieve the necessary magic that we expect from the cinema and the freshness of a personal perspective. The Festival’s 28th birthday, is proof of the love of the citizens of Drama for the cinema and their dedication to its promotion and development through a nucleus of renewal: the young film creators of the Seventh Art. Some people have worked with a lot of enthusiasm and zest for creation, succeeding in making it an important cinematic event on an international level. It has been a unique and daring act of a small town, far from the decision making centers and all the systems of promotion. I would like to express my gratitude to all of them for their substantial support. The support of an institution which promotes the cinema and the creators of short film movies, Greece and the city of Drama, and becomes bigger and bigger every year, reaching new audiences and establishing a worldwide reputation. It is certain that this year’s festival will be crowned with success, and once again will establish this city’s reputation for hospitality. Thomas Margaritis |
