He was born in Belgrade in l939. He graduated world literature and theory of literature at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. He has been publishing literary, film and TV criticism since l959. and he is author of seven books with film and literary criticism. As a film critic of Belgrade daily news „Politika“ (l970-2004) he reported from film festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, Montreal, Torino, Montpellier, Manheim-Heidelberg, , Gdansk, Krakow, Baku, Wien… He was a member of the FIPRESCI juries in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Krakow, Manheim-Heidelberg, Montreal and Montpellier. He won the national prize „Milan Bogdanoviæ“ for the! best literary critic in l982, as well as the prize „Dušan Duda Timotijeviæ“ for the best newspaper TV critic in l984. Also he won national prize „Golden Pen“ for the best film criticism from the Film Institute Belgrade in l988. In 2003. he won the Year Prize of BK Fondation for life achievement in journalism. He is one of the founders of the Independent Journalists Association of Serbia, The Serbian Literary Association, The Serbian PEN Club and AFUN (National Academy of Film Art and Sciences). Since the autumn of 2004. he is a regular film critic and columnist of the Belgrade daily „Blic“. |
