ELENA CHRISTODOULIDOU

She studied History followed by History of Art and Archaeology in France. In 1994 she published the historical study "Iakovos Diassorinos, an Early Visionary of the Greek National Revolution", funded by the Levention Museum of Nicosia. From 1996 to 1998 she was presenting a specialised programme on cinema on the Cyprus State Television (RIK). At the same time, she is publishing cinema reviews in the "Simerini" newspaper.

In 1998 she participated in a specialised programme on short film production and modern artistic work, at the ‘Studio National des Arts Contemporains de France’ (Fresnoy) and since 1998 she has participated in various scriptwriting programmes and laboratories.

Since 1994 she has been working for the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Education Official Grade A), in charge of the Cinema department. Inter alia, she is chairperson of the Advisory Committee of Cinema of the body responsible for consulting the government on film financing; chairperson of the Committee of Works of Art Acquisition aimed at the enrichment of the State Works of Art Collection; and delegate of Cyprus in the New Artists in Europe and the Mediterranean Biennale.

She is currently working on her doctoral thesis.
